Select update

1. 1From your BlackBerry
   home screen.
2. 2Browse to the Options icon
   and select.
3. 3Browse to the Device icon
   and select.

First steps

1. 1In the devices list select
   Software Updates.
2. 2Select Perform Update.
3. 3Press Download
   to continue.
4. 4Browse down and
   press Customize.

Optional Applications

1. 1Expand folders to view
   available languages,
   applications and packages.
2. 2Select/deselect check boxes
   to download.
3. 3Press Save to save your
   selections or press
   Reset to Defaults to use
   the default configuration for
   the download package.

1. 1Press Download to start
   downloading.
2. 2Press Pause at any time
   to pause downloading.
3. 3Press Resume to continue
   downloading.
4. Do not remove the
   battery when the software
   is downloading.

1. 1Press Install Now.
2. 2Press Yes to start the update
   or No to install later.
3. 3The Update in progress
   screen will appear.

2. 2Select time and date to
   schedule the update, such as
   over night or at a time when
   you will not need to use your
   BlackBerry device.
3. 3Press Save.

1. 1Press OK to accept the
   scheduled date and time.
2. 2Press OK to continue the
   update or press Reschedule
   to set a new date and time.
3. 3The Ready to install update
   screen will appear.

Back-up and restore

1. 1Once the software update
   commences all user data
   will be backed-up, including
   messages, contacts, phone
   history etc.
2. 2After the update finishes and
   the device reboots, all user
   data will be restored.

Update complete

1. 1When the update has
   completed an Update
   Successful message
   is displayed.

Carrier Initiated

1. 1A Software Updates icon
   with an asterisk on the
   home screen indicates that
   there is a software update
   available for your device.
2. 2Follow the same steps as the
   use initiated method from
   step 3 onwards to update
   the software.
3. Start demo again
