From the Home screen, select the Options icon. Depending on your device, select either About, or Device and then About Device Versions to find your smartphone model.

If your smartphone cannot be powered on, remove the battery to reveal the BlackBerry model number printed on the label underneath.

How to find out your smartphone's operating system
Press the BlackBerry key, which is to the left of the trackball or trackpad, to bring up the application list.
Scroll down to the wrench icon, which should be listed as "Options," and select it. On some BlackBerry models, you may need to select "Settings" and then "Options."
Scroll to "About" and select it. The third line on the screen that comes up will start with a “v”, followed by the software version. For example, "v. 4.5.0.37" is OS version 4.5 and build 37.
